How long is an Indian Tourist Visa valid for?

Fill me in

When planning your trip to India, it's key to know that the Indian Tourist eVisa comes in different types, each with its set of rules for validity and stay.

  • 30-day visa: Aimed at short visits, this visa lets you enter India twice within a 30-day window from the date it's issued. Say you land in India on September 1st; you then have until September 30th to explore. This visa is perfect for quick trips or if you're itching to see India's highlights in a brief period.

  • 1-year visa: This option is great for those who want to visit India multiple times a year. You're allowed multiple entries, with each visit lasting up to 90 days for most travelers. However, US, Canadian, or UK citizens can enjoy stays of up to 180 days per entry. This means you can spread your travels across the year for maximum flexibility.

  • 5-year visa: This visa allows multiple entries over five years from the date it's issued. Most nationalities can stay for up to 90 days per visit, while US, Canadian, and UK citizens can extend their stay to 180 days each time they enter. This visa offers plenty of flexibility for repeated visits.

Both the 1-year and the 5-year visas allow you to enter and exit India as often as you need, as long as you stay within the strict duration period for each visit.
